SEMARAK Founder & CEO, Mr Faiz Latip, recently joined students at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) for the SPE-UTM SC Entrepreneurship Carnival 2026 Forum, themed “Oil & Gas to Energy Future: Opportunities for Engineers and Entrepreneurs.”
The forum brought industry professionals and future engineers together to exchange perspectives on the changing energy landscape, career development and entrepreneurship.
Connecting Future Engineers with Industry Perspectives
As the energy industry continues to evolve, engineers entering the workforce are increasingly expected to develop capabilities beyond technical knowledge.
Adaptability, leadership, business awareness and the ability to recognise new opportunities are becoming equally important for professionals seeking to build meaningful careers within the energy sector.
During the forum, Mr Faiz shared perspectives from his professional and entrepreneurial journey, offering students insights into career development, building a business and navigating challenges within the evolving oil and gas and energy industries.
His session also highlighted the importance of continuous learning, resilience and being prepared to embrace opportunities throughout one’s professional journey.
