Why choose a Barrier-based analysis method?
Organisations make every effort to manage their operational risks. Unfortunately, incidents – unwanted disruptions in the desired process – must be taken into account, whether or not damage or injury is an outcome.
In such a case, it is valuable to investigate what happened, how it could have happened and what it takes to better manage the business process risks that can prevent similar incidents in the future.
Despite these efforts and best intentions, identifying the right underlying causes of the incident in practice often proves challenging. As a result, the improvement measures to be taken easily focus on fighting symptoms rather than structural improvement of business processes.
Barrier-based analysis methodologies, such as BFA and Tripod Beta, offer a solution! These methods provide structure during the analysis process. Accreditation for Tripod Beta Bronze Practitioner
The ‘Stichting Tripod Foundation’ (STF) is the quality assurance Institute for Tripod. STF has defined an accreditation system for Tripod Beta Users (Practitioners), Trainers and Assessors.
We allow participants to take the official Bronze Practitioner knowledge assessment online. This is a significant advantage because participants can take the test at their own pace at a time that suits them best after the training. After the test, participants will immediately see their results. Participants receive the official Tripod Beta Bronze Practitioner status upon completing this assessment.

The training program provides a simple, easy-to-follow approach to building Tripod Beta analyses. This allows investigators to apply the method in any incident investigation (no matter its complexity).
